Nice worn aluminiumn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 6.Batterie Schwere Flak Abteilung 524.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '6.Batterie Schwere Flak Abteilung 524'. This abteilung was formed in April 1940 in Bochum with 5 batteries. In 1943 batterie 6 was formed. In June 1944 the 6.Batterie was disbanned and a new one was formed from s.Flak-Bttr.zbV 10414. The 6th batterie was stationed in Bochum the entire war.
The 'B' on the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
