Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 6.Kompanie II.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 662. This regiment was formed in late March 1940 in Zicherau and was also known as Landesschützen-Regiment Oberost. It was part of the 399.Infanterie-Division. This division operated in East-Prussia in the autumn/summer of 1940 until it was disbanned in August 1940. Infanterie Regiment 662 and 2 other regiments were then used to form different Heimatwach-Bataillonen and had the task to guard prisoners of war in the area of Königsberg.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Nice tag from a unit that only exsisted a couple of months.
