Nice field made Luftwaffe Flieger related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted in the 6.Kompanie Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 41. This regiment was formed in March 1939 in Frankfurt as Flieger Ersatz Abteilung 41. A month later it was renamed into I.Bataillon Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 41. In August 1942 the regiment was renamed into Flieger Regiment 41 and in October of that year in Feldausbildungs-Regiment der Luftwaffe 4.
In October 1943 the regiment was transferred to the regular army as Feld-Ersatz-Bataillon 4 (L). It was put into action in Russia in the Witebsk area under Luftwaffen-Feld-Division 4. The division and her units where destroyed in Juli 1944 whilst being part of Heeresgruppe Mitte. Parts that survived where used to form Korps-Abteilung H. In September 1944 the abteilung was used to form 95.Infanterie-Division and was put into action in Königsberg, Memel and Pillau.
This tag was field made, probably became the soldier lost his first one.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
