Very nice Wehrmacht Artillerie related dog tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 6.Batterie Artillerie Regiment 169. This regiment was formed in late August 1939 and was fell under 69.Infanterie-Division. As part of this division the regiment saw combat during the invasion of Norway.
From November 1942 on it saw combat on the Russian front in areas like Wolchow, Leningrad, Newel and Ostrow. Later it was put into action in Latvia, Memel and Königsberg.
That 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
