Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 5.Schützen Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 154. This regiment is was formed in late August 1939 and was part of the 58.Infanterie-Division. With this divison it participated in the invasion of Luxembourg and then France. After France it participated in the invasion of Russia and operated in areas like Pleskau, Leningrad, Wolchow, Oranienbaum and later Leningrad again, Narwa, Memel and Samland.
In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 154.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
