Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was dratfed in the 5.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 365 bataillon was formed in the summer of 1939 and it trained and supplied soldier for Infanterie Regiment 365 which was part of the 211.Infanterie-Division from the beginning. The division saw its first combat during the invasion of Belgium and pushed through and enterred France were it stayed untill Januari 1942 before it moved to Russia, Brjansk,Orel,Newel and Kewel. In November 1944 it was renamed in the 211.Volks-Grenadier-Division and moved to Hungary and fell under the 8.Armee. By the end of the war it moved to Niederösterreich and surrendered in Raum Budweis to the Russians AND Americans.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
