Very nice Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 5.batterie I.Abteilung Flak Regiment (mot.gl.) 32. The I.Abteilung of this regiment was formed in October 1937 in Berlin-Heiligensee. In 1939 it operated in Hamburg and in April 1940 moved to the north to Narvik, but it lost all of its equipment allong the way. In June 1941 it took part in the invasion of Russia and operated in Central Russia.
By the end of 1942 the I.Abteilung was used to form schwere Flak-Abteilung 327 and a new I.Abteilung Flak Regiment 32 was rebuild in February 1943. Schwere Flak Abteilung 327 operated in Italy in areas like Verona.
The '(motgl.)" on the tag stands for 'motorisiert geländegängig/Gleiskette' which means the flak canon was mounted on a tracked (armoured) vehicle.
