The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 5.Fernsprech Bau Kompanie Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 13. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 in Magdeburg. In October 1939 it moved to Hannover. It trained and supplied soldiers for different Nachrichten units.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
