Very nice and hard to find Early (1940) Wehrmacht Gebirgsjäger Dress Tunic or 'Waffenrock' in very good condition.
The tunic shows slightly signs of wear. It's complete with a beautiful officers breast eagle, edelweiss arm patch, all buttons, collar tabs and shoulder-straps. The litzen of the cuffs and (partially) collar have been very nicely restored (excellent job!).
The shoulder-straps indicate that the tunic once belonged to an Oberfeldwebel who served in the '5.Batterie Gebirgsjäger Artillerie Regiment 79'.
On the inside the lining is intact and it's nicely unit marked '5./G.A.R.79' and dated '1940'. The waffenrock once had a tailor's label (hence the stitching markings in the neck).
Overall a very nice and hard to find Gebirgs-Artillerie Waffenrock.
