Very nice Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 5.batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 434. This unit was formed in late August 1939 in Dessau and consisted out of 5 batteries (1-4 Schwere/5 leichte). In late 1942 the unit became a schwere Flak Abteilung and in that period the 5th battery was used to formed the 4.batterie leichte Flak Abteilung 941 which operated in the Dusseldorf area. A new 5 batterie of Flak Abteilung 434 was formed.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag on the back stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
