The overall condition of the dogtag is good. Its a well preserved grounddug. The number 210898 tell us the soldier served in the 5.Batterie Fallschirm Artillerie Regiment 2. This regiment was formed in 1943 with just 1 bataillon (1-3 batterie). In May 1944 it was extended with a II. and III.Bataillon. The II.Bataillon was equipped with 3 8,8cm Flak canons. It was part of the 2.Fallschirmjager-Division. It fought fiercely during the Normandy CampaignI.Bataillon was destroyed in 'Festung Brest' in September 1944. In Oktober is was moved to Oldenburg (Germany) to strengthen. In early December of that year it was moved to Raum Hilversum-Amersfoort only to be put into action a week later South of Arnhem. They fought heavy in Zetten the entire month of January 1945 and suffered heavy losses. From Februari untill the end of the war they fought heavy against the Americans on German soil.
