Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 4.Kompanie Bau-Bataillon 87.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. Bau Bataillon 87 was formed from RAD members in August 1939. The bataillon saw its first action during the invasion of Russia as part of LVI.Armeekorps under the command of the Panzergruppe 4. At the beginning of 1942 the bataillon was part of the 16.Armee and in August 1943 it was renamed into Bau Pionier Bataillon 87.
In the last stages of the war it was put into action in the Kurland area.
