Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 4.Batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 704 erkennungsmarke.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '4.Batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 704'. This abteilung was formed in the summer of 1939 in Breslau with 5 batteries (1-3 Leichte/4-5 Schwere). In July 1940 it moved to Boulogne, France before it was transferred to Poland in April 1941. In Poland the abteilung was converted in to I.Abteilung Flak-Regiment 704. At the beginning of Operation Barbarossa the regiment was part of the 2.Armee. The regiment fought the entire war on the eastern front and was finally destroyed in Weichselbogen in Januari 1945. The 'A' on both sides of the tag stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
