The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 4.MG.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 260. This unit was formed in late November 1940. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 260 which was part of the 113.Infanterie-Divison. This division saw combat on the eastern front areas of Kiev, Charkow, Donbogen and was destroyed in the Stalingrad area.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
