The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke'shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 4.Kompanie Sanitäts Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 1. This abteilung was formed in October 1939 in Tapiau as Sanitäts Ersatz Abteilung 1. In September 1940 the regiment moved to Prague. In April the abteilung became Sanitäts Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 1. It trained and supplied soldiers for different units. In January 1945 the unit was destroyed in the area of Litzmannstadt.
