Worn zinc Wehrmacht Panzer Pionier related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It's a pretty well preseved (solid) relic. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 4.Kompanie Panzer Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 80. The bataillon was formed in the summer of 1939 as Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 80 and trained soldiers for the 7 different Pionier Bataillons. It fell under Division Nr.177. In 1942 the bataillon was renamed Panzer Pionier Ersatz Bataillon 80 and from then on trained soldiers for the Panzer Pionier Bataillons 27 and 38.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
