The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 4.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 486. This unit was formed in June 1940 and had the task to guard prisoners of war in the area of Arnsberg.
The 'A' on both parts of the helmet stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
