Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tg or 'Erkennungmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. The tag belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 4.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 34. This unit was formed in late August 1939. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 34 which was part of the 35.Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of Belgium and then France in May 1939. Later, in the summer of 1941, it also saw action in Russia and fought in areas like Smolensk, Moskau and Gshatsk.
Th 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
