Very nice Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in th 4.batterie schwere Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung (mot) 53. This abteilung was formed in late 1939 in Ansbach. It trained and supplied soldiers for 4 different Heersküsten Artillerie Abteilungen, 1 Heeresküsten Artillerie Regiment, 6 different Artillerie Abteilungen and 6 different Artillerie Regiments.
In late November 1942 the abteilung was used to form the III.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 334. This regiment fought in the Afrika campaign and was destroyed in May 1943 in Tunesia.
