Very nice and rare Pionier Bataillon 267 related Deutschen Kreuzes in Gold letter in excellent condition.
The document shows overall normal signs of wear. No damages and its solid. Its a congratulatory letter from 'Der Oberbefehlshaber der 4.Armee, Hans von Helmuth to Feldwebel Willi Meinheit for earning the Deutschen Kreuzes in Gold on 4.7.1943. Willi served in the 3.Kompanie Pionier Bataillon 267. This unit was formed in August 1939 and was part of the 267.Infanterie-Division. It saw its 1st combat during the invasion of Belgium and then France, all the way to the Channel Coast where it stayed untill May 1941. After that it participated in the invasion of Russia and fought in areas like Brest-Litowsk, Jelna, Gshatsk, Juchnow, Spass-Demensk and Mogilew. The letter is dated 9.7.1943. It's signed by the Generaloberst.
