The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows normal signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in the September of 1939 and was part of the 95.Infanterie-Division. Its saw its first combat during the invasion of France in May 1940. From August 1940 untill February 1941. In July 1941 it moved to the east to fight in the Kiew area. In 1942 it fought in the Kursk and Gshatsk areas. In July 1943 the bataillon fought fiercely for the town of Kolodjaszy. The bataillon reached the town center and was reinforced with 2x 7,5cm PaK, Artillerie, 6x Sturmgeschutze and a Pionier train. The Russian attacked the town a total of 4 times in 3 days. They attacked a 5th time on the 1st of August, but were defeated again and a 6th time a day later.
