Both documents show overall normal signs of wear. No damages only folded once. They where award to Fritz who served in the 3.Kompanie Panzerjäger Abteilung 162. This unit was part of the 62.Infanterie-Division and was formed in August 1939 as Panzerabwehr Abteilung 162. The division and its units saw its first combat during the invasion of the Low Countries by crossing the border with Belgium. It pushed through to France. In June 1940 the division moved to Poland. Here it prepared for the invasion of Russia. In Russia it fought in areas like Kiew, Poltawa,Charkow,Belgorod and Donez. In late 1943 the 3.Kompanie was used to form Panzer-Zerstörer-Bataillon 471. A bataillon equipped with the new Panzerbuchse 54 or 'Panzerschreck'. The Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber was awarded on the 16.1.1943. The Eiserne Kreuz 2.Klasse was awarded on the 20.5.1943.
