Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 3.Batterie Leichte Reserve Flak Abteilung 743.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. The abteilung was formed in July 1940 in Essen with 3 batteries. In June 1941 it was put in to action on the eastern front in the area of Nowgorod. Since then the abteilung was no longer a 'reserve' unit. In Februari 1942 it fought in the area of Sapolje. In August 1942 the abteilung returned back to Germany and was stationed in Osnabrück.
In Januari 1945 the 3.Batterie was disbanned and reformed again from Lei.Flak-Bttr.zbV 6857
