The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.Nachschub Kompanie Grossenhain. This unit was linked to Fliegerhorst Grossenhain. The soldier first served the 6.Kompanie, but switched to the 3rd.
Fliegerhorst Grossenhain was the home base for different units such as Aufklärungsgruppe 323, 123, 23, Zerstörergeschwaders 76, Kampfgeschwaders 3, Jagdgeschwader 27 and some others.
