The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.Kompanie Pionier Bataillon 193. It stayed in France as an occupation force unit late June 1941 and was then transported to the east to fight in Russia. It saw combat in the areas like Leningrad, Wolchow, Cholm and Pleskau.
