The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 3.Kompanie M.G. Ersatz Bataillon 4. This bataillon was formed in late August in Mühlheim. It trained and supplied soldiers for different units amongst it for MG-Bataillon 4.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
