Very nice Wehrmacht infanterie tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.Kompanie I.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 220. This regiment was formed in August 1939 in Rendsburg and was part of the 58.Infanterie-Division. The regiment saw its first action during the invasion of France in May 1940 and from june 1941 on it operated in Russia were it fought in areas like Leningrad, Oranienbaum, Demjansk, Newel and later in Narwa, Estonia. In October 1942 th regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 220.

The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
