Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Heer related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted within the 3.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 209. This unit was formed in late August 1939 in Flensburg. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie-Regiment 209 which was part of the 58.Infanterie-Division. This division and her units where put into action during the invasion of Luxemburg and pushed through to Belgium and France. After France it participated in the invasion of Russia.
Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 209 moved to Denmark in May 1940 until it moved back to Flensburg in November 1942 and was renamed into Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 209.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
