Very nice zinc Wehrmacht Grenadier related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was draften in the 3.Kompanie Grenadier Ausbildungs Bataillon (mot) 90. This unit was formed in August 1939 as Infanterie Ausbildungs Bataillon (motorisiert) 90 and trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment (motorisiert) 90 which was part of the 20.Infanterie-Division. In November 1942 the bataillon was renamend into Grenadier Ausbildungs Bataillon (MOT) 90.
The 20.Infanterie-Division participated in the invasion of France and after that in Russia. It fought in areas like Bialystok, Minsk, Wolchow and Welish.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
