The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.Kompanie Bau Bataillon 140. This unit was formed in late August 1939 from RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst) members. Straight after it was formed it became part of the 5.Armee and moved to the West. In January 1940 the bataillon was disbanned and the members absorbed by other units.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
