Very nice edelstahl Fallschirmjäger Pionier erkennungsmarke in used, but good condition.
The tag shows overall normal signs of wear. The number '210321' tell us the soldier served in the 3.Kompanie Fallschirm-Pionier-Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 2. The commander of the 3.kompanie was Leutnant Austermann. This unit was formed in Moulon, France from the II/Fallschirm-Pionier-Regiment 21 and consisted out 4 companies. It quickly stated providing replacements for Fallschirm Pionier Bataillon 2 Gasteyer, Fallschirm Pionier Bataillon 6 Meixner, Pionier Bataillon 9 Kupkow and Pionier Bataillon 11 Von Albert.
In Januari 1945 the bataillon was stationed in Gustrow and it was increased to 5 companies. Parts of the bataillon saw service in Holland. In April 1945 the remnants of the bataillon was used to form the II.Bataillon Fallschirm Pionier Regiment 20 which was part of the 20.Fallschirmjäger-Division and it was stationed in the area of Assen (Holland)
The 'T' on the tag means that the soldier got his tetanus shot.
