Very nice Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 3.schwere Batterie Reserve Flak Abteilung 403. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 in Bochum and consisted out of 5 batteries (1-3 schwere, 4-5-leichte). In July 1942 the unit became Schwere Flak Abteilung 403 and the 1-3.batterie moved to Tunisia, via Italy. The 1.battery was distroyed in Tunisia and in June 1943 the abteilung was disbanned. The 3.batterie was used to form the 1./Flakerdkampfschule Süd.
The tag was once stamped with the 'A' on both sides which indicates the soldier's bloodtype, but this was ereased by him.
