The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 3.Batterie Beobachtungs Ersatz Abteilung motorisiert 1. This unit was formed in September 1939 in Königsberg. It trained and supplied soldiers for different (leichte) Beobachtungs Abteilungen and Stellungs Beobachtungs Abteilungen. The Beobachtungs Ersatz Abteilung 1 became also part of the war as an active (fighting) unit in early 1945 of which her action can be found online.
This tag looks to be a fieldmade one.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
