The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 2.Schützen kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 234. This unit was formed in late August 1939 Tetschen. It trained and supplied soldier for Infanterie Regiment 234 which was part of the 56.Infanterie-Division. This division saw participated in the invasion of Poland in 1939 and after that it moved to the west. It then invaded Belgium and pushed all the way through to France. The soldier carved in some text on the back, but we can't figure out what it reads.
