The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It's a well preserved ground find. It belonged to a soldier who served within the (I.Gruppe) 2.Schulungs Kompanie Große Kampffliegerschule Tutow. In Januari 1940 it was renamed into Kampffliegerschule 1.
The I.Gruppe was formed in November 1938 and trained pilots in the fighter plane (Henschel) Hs123. In October 1942 the I.Gruppe Kampffliegerschule became the I.Gruppe Kampfbeobachterschule 3 and trained Observers, gunners and on-board radio operators.
