Very nice aluminium Landesschützen related dog tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted within the 2.Marschkompanie Landesschützen Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 5. This bataillon was formed in February 1940 as Landesschützen Ersatz Bataillon 5. In April 1943 the Ersatz and Ausbildungs units where combined and renamed into Landesschützen Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 5. It trained and supplied soldiers for 5 different Landesschützen Regiments, 35! different Landesschützen Bataillons and a couple of Sicherungs Regiments and Bataillons.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype. It comes with its original neckcord.
