The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 2.Kompanie Veterinär Ersatz Abteilung 10. This unit was formed in March 1941 in Hamburg-Osdorf. In 1943 the unit became Veterinär Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 10.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
