Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served/ was drafted in the 2.Kompanie Schützen Ersatz Batailon 6.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. The bataillon was formed in August 1939 in Saalfeld. It trained and supplied soldiers for Schützen Regiment 6 & 7 (later Panzergrenadier Regiment 6 & 7) and Schützen Bridage 10 & 11.
In August 1942 it was renamed Panzer Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 6.
Soldiers of a Schützen Regiment are the ones you often see in the Sd.Kfz's (halftracks) and are part of a Panzer Regiment/Division.
Interesting Panzer infanterie related dog tag which is not easy to find.
