Very nice Landesschützen Bataillon 982 tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Kompanie Landesschützen Bataillon 982. This bataillon was formed in January 1941 in Stargard. The bataillon operated under the Kommandeur der Kriegsgefangenen II in the Stargard area.
In Dezember 1941 the bataillon was used to formed the II.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 441 which was part of the 416.Infanterie-Division and operated in Jutland, Denmark. In Marz 1942 the regiment 441 was renamed into Landesschützen Bataillon 930. It was defeated by the Russian army whilst fighting on the Narew-Front (Poland).
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
