Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the 2.Kompanie Kradschutzen Ersatz Bataillon 9.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. A well preserved ground find. The Kradschutzen Ersatz Bataillon 9 was formed in October 1941 in Sondershausen and fell under the Division 176 which later became the 176.Panzer-Division. In August 1943 it became part of the Kommandeur der Panzer Truppen IX.
The Ersatz Bataillon trained and delivered soldiers for the Aufklärungs Abteilung (mot) 14 and probably for other units aswell.
The 'A' on both sides of the tag stands for the soldiers bloodtype.
