Very nice aluminium Wehrmacht infanterie related tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 2.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 452. This regiment was formed in late August 1939 and was part of the 252.Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of France that started in May 1940. In June 1941 the division participated in the invasion of Russia and fought in different areas.
Infanterie Regiment 452 was disbanned in November 1941 and its soldiers were absorbed by different units of the 252.Infanterie-Division.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
