Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was draften in the 2.Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 167. This unit was formed in late August 1939 in Detmold and trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 167 which was part of the 86.Infanterie-Division. This division was put into action during the invasion of France in May 1940. After France it participated in the invasion of Russia and fought in areas like Wjasma, Rshew, Orel and Gomel.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
