Very nice Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 2.Kompanie Ersatz Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 47. This regiment was formed in October 1935 and was part of the 20.Infanterie-Division. In the Autumn of 1937 the regiment became part of the 22.(Luftlande).Infanterie-Division.
During the outbreak of the war the regiment was put into action in the Dutch area of Valkenburg. 
In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 47 and was transported to Afrika were it became part of Kampfgruppe Buhse. In February 1943 the regiment was renamed into Panzer Grenadier Regiment 47 and became part of the 21.Panzer-Division. It was destroyed in Tunesia in Mai 1943. 
The regiment was rebuild in February 1944 in Crete by using Feldersatz Bataillon 22. It was put into action in Greece, Montenegro and Croatia. 
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
