The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted within the 2.batterie Gebirgs Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 79. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It trained and supplied soldiers for Artillerie Regiment 85 and Gebirgs Artillerie Regiment 79, 94 and 1057.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag on the back stand for the soldier's bloodtype.
