Nice zinc Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 2.batterie Reserve Flak Abteilun 385. This unit was formed in August 1939 in Wien (Vienna) from Flak Regiment 38 and consisted out of 5 batteries (1-3 heavy, 4-5 light). In 1939 the unit was stationed in Augsburg and in 1940 it was stationed in Holland and then France (or participated in the invasion). In early August 1941 the unit was put into action in the Leningrad area.
In July 1942 the unit was renamed into gemischte Flak Abteilung 385 and in early 1942 into schwere Flak Abteilung 385. In that same year the 1st and 2nd batterie was disbanned and reformed straight after.
In late 1943 it served in Riga under Flakgruppe Ostland and later as part of the 6.Flak-Division.
