Both documents show overall normal signs of wear. They where award to Heinrich who served in the 14.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 374. This unit was part of the 207.Infanterie-Division and was formed in August 1939. The division and its units saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland. After Poland it participated in the Invasion of Holland and then France. Later that year it moved back to Holland. In March 1941 a third of the division became 207.Sicherungs-Division. In June the division took part in Operation Barbarossa. In September a part of the division was ordered to Fight against partisans. In 1943 they did the same in the Luga area. In April 1944 Regiment 374 was disbanned and the remains where used to form Füsilier-Bataillone 12 and 302. Bataillon 12 was part of the 12.Volks-Grenadier-Division which fought during the Ardennes Offensive in 1944. Füsilier-Bataillone 302 was part of 302.Infanterie-Division and fought in Nikopol and Odessa The Ostmedaille was awarded on the 28.7.1942. The Kriegverdienstkreuz 2.Klasse was awarded on the 20.4.1943 and is signed by Generalmajor Erich Hofmann, wearer of the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold.
