Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served/ was drafted in the 12.Kompanie Panzer Grenadier (Feldausbildungs) Regiment 381.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served/was drafted within the 12.Kompanie Panzer Grenadier (Feldausbildungs) Regiment 381. This regiment was formed in September 1942 as Infanterie (Feldausbildungs) Regiment 381 as part of the 381.Infanterie- (Feldausbildungs) Division which fell under the Heeresgruppe A. In October the regiment was renamed into Panzer Grenadier (Feldausbildungs) Regiment 381. It was put into action on the Kaukasus front.
In February 1943 the division and her units where disbanned and the absorbed the by unit of the 17.Armee.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodype.
Interesting Panzer infanterie related dog tag.
