Nice zinc Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 12.batterie Artillerie Regiment 385. This regiment was formed in January 1942 and was part of the 385.Infanterie-Division. It was punt into action on the eastern front in areas like Fomino, Kursk, Woronesch and Donbogen. The regiment was disbanned in February 1943 after is sufferred heavy losses in the Rossotsch area. Remnants of the regiment were used to form the II.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment 387.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
Nice tag from a unit that existed little over more then a year.
