This is about the most common mistake made regarding Waffen-ss volunteer tabs. It was an error made in the SS-Taschenkalender 1945 where the design (closed sun wheel) was listed for the French.

This rare late war (1945) closed sun-wheel Waffen-SS Volunteer Collar Tab comes from the well known SS clothing department at the KZ Dachau and was most likely intended to be worn on the right side of the collar by the volunteers of the Danish '11. SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Division 'Nordland'.

Overall, an excellent piece that is not easy to find and will complement any Waffen-SS collection.

FYI: The open sun-wheel was most likely for the Norwegian Waffen-SS volunteers.
