The overall condition of the document is very good. The Verwundetenabzeichen was awarded on 9th of August 1942 to Wilhelm who served in 10.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 70. This regiment was formed in 1936 and was part of the 36.Infanterie-Division at the beginning of the was. It saw its first (heavy) combat during the invasion of France. In November 1940 Regiment 70 was put under the command of 111.Infanterie-Division and moved to the east to prep for the invasion of Russia. It fought in areas like Dubno,Shitomir and Kiew. In later years in areas like Donez,Rostow,Kaukasus and Taganrog (Kuban). The regiment was destroyed in Sewastopol and with the remains Grenadier Regiment 111 was formed.
